Experienced Café Chef – Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Chef to join our busy café team.

This is a great opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment, takes pride in producing consistently high-quality food, and can work confidently as part of a small team.

About the Role

You will be involved in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen, including:

• Preparing and cooking a range of café-style breakfast and lunch dishes
• Maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and portion sizes
• Completing food preparation and mise en place
• Managing your section efficiently during busy service periods
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering
• Minimising food waste and maintaining appropriate food cost controls
• Following food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
• Working collaboratively with front-of-house and other kitchen staff
• Contributing ideas for menu items, specials and improvements where appropriate

What We Are Looking For

The successful applicant should have:

• At least 3 years of relevant commercial cooking experience
• Previous experience working in a café, restaurant or similar hospitality environment
• Strong cooking and food preparation skills
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities during busy periods
• Good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude
• Ability to maintain consistent standards of food quality and presentation

Experience with café breakfast and lunch service would be particularly advantageous.
