Chef

We provide expert nursing care for up to 87 residents in our prestigious home in Andover providing a real “Home from Home” for our residents.

Close to the railway station. We are currently looking for an additional chef to join our Outstanding team.

Essential skills and knowledge must include:

Friendly manner and interest in getting to know our residents

The ability to deputise for the Chef de Cuisine in their absence

Cooking for a minimum of 70 residents

Prior experience in a Nursing Home would be an advantage as would a Knowledge about different types of diet and how to cater to residents with different health needs. The position would include:-

• Keeping up with industry trends and creating new recipes with the Sous Chef
• Reviewing the menu and doing inventory
• Following budgets
• Ordering food for the kitchen
• Training staff
• Ensuring standard portions and quality of dishes
• Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen and ensuring sanitation practices in the kitchen

The ability to work a mix of weekdays and weekends

All aspects of cooking and kitchen work need to be carried out. We pride ourselves on our home cooked food and we have an extensive menu for our residents. You will be required to work both in teams and alone within the home.
