Job Overview

Kailzie Café, Peebles is looking for an experienced and passionate chef to join our vibrant café team, working sociable daytime hours (8am–5pm in winter and 8am–6pm in summer). We are looking for an EXPERIENCED passionate and dedicated individual to assist in the preparation and presentation of our menu, ensuring high standards of quality and hygiene at all times.

About the Role

• Preparing and delivering high-quality, fresh food to a consistently high standard
• Maintaining a professional, safe, hygienic, and cost-effective kitchen environment
• Adhering to all food hygiene and EHO regulations
• Stock management , including ordering and receiving supplies and managing stock levels to minimise waste.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service
• Assisting in menu development, ingredient sourcing, and dish costing to meet GP targets

What we are looking for

• Minimum 2 year’s experience with strong cafe or restaurant experience
• Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communication and strong teamwork skills.
• Passion for cooking, fresh food and customer service.
• Flexibility to occasionally support evening openings
• Must be able to drive due to rural location

Package

• Hours: 35-45 per week daytime hours
• 5.6 weeks holiday per year, including time off over Christmas and New Year
