Food Truck Chef & Operations Manager

We are looking for an experienced and motivated **Food Truck Chef & Operations Manager** to lead the daily operation of our Mexican-Salvadorian food truck. The ideal candidate will have strong cooking skills, leadership ability, and experience managing food service operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee the preparation of authentic Mexican and Salvadorian dishes.

• Create a consistent, high-quality menu and maintain food standards.

• Manage the food truck’s daily operations and workflow.

• Supervise kitchen staff and assign daily duties.

• Purchase ingredients and negotiate with vendors and suppliers.

• Monitor inventory and reduce food waste.

• Control food, labor, and operating costs.

• Ensure proper portion control and consistent food quality.

• Maintain cleanliness and follow all health and safety regulations.

• Manage food preparation, service, and closing procedures.

• Help grow the business through excellent customer service and efficient operations.

• Track sales and expenses and provide regular business updates.

Requirements

• At least **3 years of professional chef or food-service management experience**.

• Experience preparing Mexican and/or Salvadorian cuisine.

• Strong knowledge of food costs, inventory, purchasing, and vendor management.

• Ability to lead a team and work independently.

• Excellent organization and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced food truck environment.

• Food handler’s certification or other required local permits.

• Reliable transportation and flexible availability are preferred.

Compensation

• Salary 3k-6k

• Percentage: Additional percentage of business profits or sales, to be agreed upon based on experience and responsibilities.

This position offers an opportunity for the right candidate to take an important leadership role in growing and managing a Mexican-Salvadorian food truck business.

Pay: $17.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
