Full-Time Chef – Pelican Waters Resort

Pelican Waters Resort is seeking an experienced and motivated Full-Time Chef to join our kitchen team on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland.

This is a full-time position suited to a qualified chef who takes pride in producing consistently high-quality food and working as part of a professional, fast-paced kitchen team.

The Role

As a Full-Time Chef, your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking high-quality meals in accordance with our menus and standards
• Assisting with menu preparation and development
• Maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
• Managing food preparation and service during busy periods
• Maintaining food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and stock rotation
• Minimising food waste and assisting with kitchen cost control
• Working collaboratively with the kitchen and broader resort team
• Assisting with functions, events and other food service requirements as required

Skills & Experience

The successful applicant will ideally have:

• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications
• Previous experience working as a Chef in a restaurant, hotel, resort or similar commercial kitchen environment
• Strong food preparation and cooking skills
• Knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays where required
