Mayflower Restaurant and Bar

Mayflower Restaurant and Bar is looking for a dependable, skilled chef to join our kitchen team. We’re considering applicants for full-time, part-time, and casual positions.

We need someone who takes pride in preparing good food, keeps a clean and organised workspace, and works reliably with the rest of the team. You should be comfortable working in a busy kitchen and helping maintain consistent food quality during service.

What you’ll do

• Prepare and cook dishes to the restaurant’s recipes and quality standards.
• Complete food preparation and mise en place before service.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and ready for service.
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety, and allergen procedures.
• Store and label ingredients correctly, and help monitor stock and deliveries.
• Communicate clearly with the front of house team about orders, timing, and special requests.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues and support the kitchen wherever needed.

What we’re looking for

• Dependable, punctual, and professional.
• Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is preferred.
• Able to work efficiently and stay organised during busy services.
• Knowledge of safe food handling, kitchen hygiene, and allergen awareness.
• A positive team attitude and willingness to take responsibility for your work.
• Availability suited to the position you’re applying for.
