Join the team at The Village Café!

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our kitchen team at The Village Café in Whitburn, working alongside our Head Chef to deliver high-quality, freshly prepared food in a welcoming and busy café environment.

The Role

• Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
• Take responsibility for kitchen operations and lead the team in the Head Chef's absence.
• Prepare and cook fresh food to a consistently high standard.
• Assist with menu development, specials and seasonal dishes.
• Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards.
• Manage stock, deliveries, preparation and kitchen organisation.
• Support and motivate the wider kitchen team, ensuring efficient service.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a professional kitchen.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic and passion for good food.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Confidence in running a kitchen during the Head Chef's days off.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards and delivering great food.
