About Us

Meeka Metals Limited (MEK) operates Western Australia’s newest gold mine, the Murchison Gold Project, 50kms north of Meekatharra and requires an experienced Chef to join our team.

The project comprises both open pit and underground mining, with an initial mine life of 9 years. Gold production commenced in July 2025 and site activities are rapidly ramping up.

About the Role

The Chef will report into the Village Supervisor and cater for personnel in our 252-person accommodation village This full-time role will provide a great opportunity for you to consistently deliver high quality and creative meals, plan and order food for your selected weekly menu and assist with general village operations. The role is offered on an 8:6 roster, FIFO from Perth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver great meals for your team.
• Manage the kitchen and dining experience.
• Manage kitchen related costs and catering budget.
• Assist with menu planning and stock ordering / control.
• Manage kitchen hygiene standards.
• Ensure that workplace safety standards are maintained.

About You

• 3+ years’ cumulative chef experience, preferably with experience in a remote village or in commercial catering.
• Demonstrated experience with ordering, storing, preparing, and delivering food service.
• Prior experience budgeting and stock management.
• Experience in menu planning.
• Ability to manage a fast-pace work environment.
• Basic proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid C Western Australian Drivers Licence.
• Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Valid National Police Clearance (
