FULL-TIME CHEF
The Boxwood Café at The Barn Garden Centre, Oundle
Full-time working alternate weekends with no evenings. £14 p/h

The Role

As one of our chefs, you will prepare and cook dishes from our breakfast and lunch menus to a high standard.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage daily food preparation ensuring all ingredients are fresh and fully stocked.
• Handle high-volume service during peak morning and weekend rushes with speed and accuracy.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety regulations.
• Assist with ordering and minimising food waste.
• Contribute ideas for daily specials and menu updates.

We are looking for:

• Proven experience working as a chef/ cook preferably in a café or restaurant environment.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (Food hygiene certificate a plus)
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy services.
• A positive, collaborative attitude, and excellent communication skills to co-ordinate with team members and front-of-house staff.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a genuine passion for high quality food

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
