About the role

Join our team at Grounded 2050, a historic and iconic venue in Camperdown. This is a permanent full-time Chef position working 38 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Creating meal plans, calculating expenses for both food and labour, and procuring necessary food supplies
• Supervising the quality of dishes during all phases of preparation and presentation
• Engaging in conversations about food preparation matters with Managers, Dietitians, and both kitchen and serving personnel
• Illustrating cooking techniques and offering guidance on cooking procedures
• Getting food ready and cooking it
• Clarifying and ensuring compliance with hygiene regulations
• Possibly recruiting and instructing staff
• Potentially freezing and preserving food items

About you

• Excellent English skills
• The right to work in Australia
• Certificate IV in commercial cookery or relevant qualification related to the field
• Minimum of 2 years of work experience
• Team management skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong time management skills
• Proficiency in all aspects of food safety
• Positive communication skills, energy and attitude
