About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking chef to join our busy garden centre café kitchen.

You will work alongside our chefs and kitchen team, helping with food preparation and ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly throughout the day. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in producing and serving good-quality food.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the chefs and kitchen team with day-to-day tasks
• Preparing ingredients and assisting with food preparation
• Helping with cooking and plating when required
• Preparing vegetables, salads, sandwiches and other menu items
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy and organised
• Washing up and keeping kitchen equipment clean
• Following food hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Ensuring food is stored correctly and safely
• Helping the kitchen team during busy service periods
• Working as part of a friendly and supportive team

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• A positive team player
• Able to work well under pressure
• Organised and able to follow instructions
• Passionate about food and maintaining high standards
• Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
• Previous kitchen or catering experience is preferred but not essential

Food Hygiene certification is desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
