What they need

Who We Are

We are Deadwood Smokehouse, where low-and-slow isn’t just a cooking method—it’s a lifestyle. We treat brisket with respect, build burgers that defy gravity, and skip the corporate faff entirely.

We are looking for a reliable, passionate Chef to join our tight-knit kitchen crew, command the line, and help us keep the smokehouse standard flying high.

The Role

This isn't your standard, boring line cook gig. You will be a vital gear in our smokehouse engine, ensuring every tray and plate that hits the pass is an absolute masterpiece. With a guaranteed 30–45 hours per week, you’ll be right in the thick of the action during our legendary weekend rushes.

Your daily grind will include:

  • Ruling Your Section: Bringing speed, precision, and a bit of flair to the line when the kitchen gets busy.
  • Following the Blueprint: Preparing and cooking our menu to exact specs—because consistency is the secret sauce to our success.
  • Beating the Screens: Working seamlessly with our Kitchen Display System (KDS) to smash ticket times and keep the order flow flawless.
  • The Clean Down: Keeping your station immaculately clean, respecting the food safety logs, and nailing the opening/closing checklists.
  • Prepping for Battle: Managing prep levels so we never run out of the good stuff right when a heavy shift kicks off.

What We’re Looking For

  • The Experience: Proven time served in a fast-paced commercial kitchen (if you've got smokehouse, high-volume casual dining, or branded restaurant experience, you're already speaking our language).
  • The Attitude: Someone who thrives under pressure, takes genuine pride in their craft, and doesn't blink when the KDS screens fill up with orders.
  • Tech-Savvy: You know your way around a kitchen screen and use the KDS to work smarter, not harder.
  • Reliability: You show up on time, ready to dominate the shift, and bring good energy to the line.
  • Flexibility: Available for evenings and weekends—the prime slots when our hungry regulars flock to the pit.

Why Join the Crew?

  • Work-Life Balance: A 4 day week means steady income without burning yourself out.
  • Independent Vibe: Work with a passionate, independent business where your hard work is actually noticed, valued, and rewarded by the people who own and run it.

Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour

Benefits:

  • Discounted or free food
  • Employee discount

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Mold CH7 1ES: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Kitchen: 1 year (required)

Language:

  • English (required)

Work authorisation:

  • United Kingdom (required)

Location:

  • Mold CH7 1ES (preferred)

Work Location: In person
