About the Role

Collaborating closely with the Kitchen Manager, this position oversees the creation of wholesome, high-standard meals for lunch, crib, and dinner. The role requires upholding a pristine, structured, and compliant culinary space, managing inventory control, strictly adhering to food safety guidelines, and supporting seamless daily camp operations.

A crucial duty involves guiding, directing, and instructing our Apprentice Chef, fostering their technical growth while preserving the rigorous food preparation, sanitation, and professional standards expected at Marradong Contracting.

Key Responsibilities

● Prepare and cook quality meals for camp personnel.

● Assist with planning varied and nutritious menus.

● Supervise, mentor and train an Apprentice Chef.

● Delegate daily kitchen tasks and provide ongoing guidance and support.

● Maintain exceptional standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

● Assist with stock rotation and inventory management.

● Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations.

● Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Essential Requirements

● Previous experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen or remote camp environment.

● Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop apprentices or junior kitchen staff.

● Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.

● Current C Class Driver's Licence.

● Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screening.

● Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills.

● A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Pay: $75,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
