Chef

Provisions of Arrowtown is looking for a passionate and experienced Chef to join our talented kitchen team for the upcoming summer season.

This is a fixed-term position starting immediately and running until mid-May 2027, offering approximately 40–45 hours per week, with rostered shifts including weekends and public holidays.

We are seeking an organised, motivated and ambitious chef with strong technical skills, creativity and a genuine passion for food. You'll thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, consistently delivering high-quality dishes while showcasing fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Baking or pastry experience would be a bonus.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum 3–4 years' experience as a chef in a busy café or restaurant

• Recognised cooking qualifications or equivalent practical experience

• Strong knowledge of food safety standards and food control plan requirements

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards

• A positive, reliable attitude and strong work ethic

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard

• Delivering efficient, high-quality service in a busy café environment

• Managing stock, ordering supplies and minimising food waste

• Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and workplace health & safety standards

• Taking responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Senior Chef

• Incorporating local Central Otago produce and New Zealand flavours into our menu
