Chef

Bean & Base Cafe, a busy cafe and woodfired pizza bar at 159 Melbourne Road, Rippleside VIC 3215, is looking for an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.
About the role
You will lead day-to-day food production and help shape our menu, working closely with management and front-of-house staff to deliver consistent, high-quality dishes.
Key responsibilities

• Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
• Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
• Discussing food preparation issues with managers, dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff
• Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
• Preparing and cooking food
• Explaining and enforcing food hygiene and safety regulations
• Selecting and training kitchen staff where required
• Freezing and preserving foods where required

Requirements

• Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
• Diploma of Hospitality Management
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a Chef, gained after completing your qualifications
• Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Flexibility to work a roster including weekends and public holidays

Salary and conditions

• $80,000 to $82,000 per annum plus superannuation
• Full-time, ongoing position

Pay: $80,000.00 – $82,000.00 per year
