Chef

About the role

As a Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of breakfast, lunch and café-style dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and food safety.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of café-style dishes.
• Preparing ingredients, sauces, stocks and other food components.
• Following recipes and maintaining consistent food quality and presentation.
• Monitoring food preparation and cooking processes to ensure timely service.
• Assisting with menu planning and developing new and seasonal dishes.
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and receiving supplies.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and workplace safety.
• Ensuring food is stored, prepared and handled in accordance with food safety requirements.
• Working effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff during busy service periods.
• Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.

About you

• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications and/or relevant industry experience.
• Previous experience working as a Chef in a café, restaurant or similar commercial kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
• Availability to work a flexible roster, including weekends where required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $80,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
