Chef / Cook

Kkai Café in Al Quoz comes under new management on 1 September 2026 and we are rebuilding the kitchen from the menu up.

This is a hands-on role in a small kitchen. You will cook every service. The kitchen serves café dine-in, a heavy weekday lunch rush from the surrounding offices, corporate catering and delivery platform orders. The kitchen is upstairs, separate from the seating areas, so organisation matters as much as cooking.

What you will do:

Help design the opening menu with the owners - costed, quick to fire, built around weekday lunch

Cook on the line every service

Set recipes, portion sizes and plating standards

Manage ordering, suppliers, stock rotation and wastage

Keep food cost inside target

Run food safety and keep the kitchen inspection-ready

Lead a small kitchen team - a second chef, a helper and a steward

What we need from you:

At least 3 years cooking in UAE cafés or casual dining

You can cost a dish, not just cook it

Strong on breakfast, sandwiches, salads and quick hot mains

Food safety certification (Person in Charge or equivalent)

Organised and calm through a concentrated lunch rush

Currently in the UAE and able to start by 1 September

What we offer:

AED 2,600 per month

Shared accommodation provided in Al Quoz, within walking distance of the café

Two duty meals per shift

Team performance bonus once monthly sales pass target

Medical insurance provided

Candidates who already hold a valid UAE residence visa - spouse, family or own sponsorship - are preferred and can start sooner

No transport allowance - the accommodation is walkable

Pay: AED2,600.00 per month

Work Location: In person
