Chef /Cook

About the role

This is a Cook/Chef position at Imperial Homestead in York, Northam & Wheatbelt WA. You will prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard, supervise and train kitchen staff, and contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations and guest satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes to a consistently high standard
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, ensuring clear communication and team efficiency
• Assist with the creation of seasonal and function menus
• Maintain stock control, order supplies, and manage inventory levels
• Monitor food costs and minimise waste through smart planning and prep
• Uphold all food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
• Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and safely during service periods
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of kitchen operations and guest satisfaction

About you

• Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen
• Relevant commercial cookery qualifications (Cert III or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food presentation, and food safety standards
• A positive, team-first attitude and a strong work ethic
• Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and split shifts
• Full Australian working rights (essential)
