What they need

Here is a refined version of your job ad. It tightens the rhythm, sharpens the imagery, and formats the requirements for quick reading while keeping your strong, no-nonsense tone intact.

Not every kitchen needs another pair of hands. Some kitchens need someone who owns their section.

The Frog Club is looking for a Chef de Partie who takes genuine pride in the work—someone who runs their section with discipline, holds the line under pressure, and understands that a great kitchen is built on consistency, not performance.

This isn't a role for someone learning the basics, nor a kitchen for someone who needs step-by-step direction during service. We don't take shortcuts, and we expect you not to either.

Placed on Chapel Street, Windsor, from the team behind Gilson, The Frog Club channels the energy of classic New York supper clubs and iconic Hollywood dining rooms. Think dry-aged steaks, fresh seafood, brasserie classics executed properly, cold martinis, and high-energy service seven nights a week. We take the food seriously, treat our people well, and are building something built to last.

The Role You’ll take total accountability for your section—preparation, execution, and closing standards. Working alongside the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will drive menu consistency while mentoring the junior line.

  • Execution: Run your section with precision and pace across full, high-volume services.
  • Standards: Maintain exact quality and presentation on every single plate, every single night.
  • Preparation: Complete mise en place to the Head Chef’s exact standard, fully set before the first order drops.
  • Leadership: Support the on-the-job development of Commis Chefs and Kitchen Hands.
  • Operations: Oversee section cleanliness, HACCP compliance, stock rotation, yield management, and waste reduction.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated background as a CDP in a high-volume, quality-driven restaurant (grill, fish, or larder experience strongly preferred).
  • Autonomy: Able to step in and run a section independently from week one.
  • Consistency: The standard on a quiet Tuesday matches the standard on a peak Saturday.
  • Composure: Works cleanly under pressure and maintains sharp, clear communication on the line.
  • Attitude: Brings quiet confidence, high energy, and genuine respect for the craft.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary + super + tips.
  • A key role in one of Melbourne’s most anticipated new venue openings.
  • A structured pathway to Sous Chef as our hospitality group expands.
  • Access to group-wide staff discounts and structured culinary training programs.
  • A professional, respectful culture where hard work is recognized and rewarded.

Help build a new Chapel Street institution.
