Chef de Partie

Tennyson Trading Limited t/a Central Fire Station Bistro.

We're looking for a Chef de Partie to join the kitchen team at the Central Fire Station Bistro in Napier.

We are a busy restaurant that operates at a high standard.

You will work on the Hot sections, assisting in all aspects of the daily operations.

We Offer

• A permanent Full time Position
• Guaranteed 30 hours work per week
• $30 - $34 per hour depending on skills and experience
• Consistent roster - evenings plus Friday lunch. Closed public holiday. The restaurant open 5.30 -11pm Tuesday to Sunday and so hours will range from between Midday to 1am

In this role you will be required to:

• Preparing all vegetable preparations for the entremetier section
• Communicating with Head Chef/Sous Chef and FOH about any preparation issues
• Cleaning and organizing your section for service and after service
• Ordering all products required for your section
• Taking daily temperature records for our Food Control Plan
• Preparing a contribution to staff meal daily
• Training junior chefs

Applicants should

• Have a minimum of 3 years experience in restaurants as Chef de Partie
• Have experience assisting with developing menus and managing stock
• Have a hard nosed work ethic
• Have an eye for detail and a steady hand
• Have the ability to work calmly during a busy service
• Be Punctual and Polite
• Have no problem asking questions or asking for help
• Enjoy making staff food
• Greet each of your colleagues when you arrive
• Relish being responsible
