As our venue is positioned as a premium dining and entertainment experience, every dish must reflect quality and care.
ABOUT US
Welcome to The Avenue – a luxury cinema experience, right in the heart of Glasgow located on the top floor of the Omniplex Cinema (The world's tallest cinema!). With boutique screens, a fully licensed bar offering views across the City, and stylish sofa seating with gourmet food delivered straight to your seat, we’re setting a new standard in leisure and entertainment.
OUR KITCHEN CULTURE
We are committed to creating a positive and well-structured kitchen environment built on respect, communication, and teamwork. This is not a hostile brigade: we work efficiently, professionally, and collaboratively to maintain standards and keep raising them. Experienced chefs are encouraged to bring their skills, but also to be open to new ideas and to mentor junior colleagues when needed.
ROLE SUMMARY
The Chef (CDP level) will work alongside the Head and Sous Chefs in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, including food preparation, service, and maintaining best practice in food hygiene and safety. Section management, organisation, and quality control will be central to the role.

- Supporting with HACCP documentation, food safety, and hygiene compliance

- Contributing to menu development and new dish creation
- Upholding health & safety procedures throughout all kitchen operations
- Assisting with stock care, equipment use, and safeguarding company assets
- Supporting smooth shift operations including prep, set-up, and close-down
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- At least 1 year’s experience as CDP or higher, and 1–3 years in a busy professional kitchen
- NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH, and food hygiene best practices
- A team player with strong communication skills
- Ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Flexibility for daytime, evening, and weekend shifts
