Chef de partie/sous chef

We are seeking a Chef to join our kitchen at journeys restaurant in Eastbourne to help us deliver exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have some previous experience as a chef and will be willing to learn and listen to the head chef. This role involves food preparation, the opportunity to help create new dishes to put on the menu, to deliver a high standard of food and service,

Duties

• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
• Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
• Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations
• Ensure all food served meets the highest quality standards and customer expectations

Experience

• Good presentation skills
• Food preparation
• Solid understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
• Previous restaurant experience is essential, with a focus on high-quality service delivery
• Experience in hospitality or serving roles is advantageous but not mandatory; however, familiarity with customer service principles is beneficial
