Den Gamle Major, a historic brown pub in Majorstuen, Oslo, is seeking a talented chef to enhance our culinary team. This is a full-time position (100%) starting on September 16, 2026. Untill the end of the year. With a chance to work in a larger company with many more bars opening up further on. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

What We Look For

• Passion for creating memorable dining experiences for our guests
• Ability to prepare dishes according to established routines and profitability goals
• Experience in daily mise en place, lunches, and event catering
• Knowledge of food handling, hygiene, and safety standards
• Capacity to follow our culinary concept and maintain high standards
• Team player who fosters collaboration between the kitchen, service, and bar
• Understanding of fluent Norwegian or English

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in line with our gastropub concept
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Contribute to menu development and uphold our culinary standards
• Assist in the daily mise en place and preparation for service
• Maintain compliance with hygiene protocols and best practices
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
