Job Summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining kitchen hygiene standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations while delivering nutritious and delicious food for hospital staff, patients, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of meals and snacks according to menu plans
• Ensure food quality, taste, and presentation meet standards
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas
• Monitor food inventory and assist in stock management
• Ensure proper food storage and handling procedures
• Supervise kitchen assistants and support staff when required
• Follow hospital food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
• Assist in menu planning and introducing new dishes when needed

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a hotel, restaurant, canteen, or hospital setting
• Knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to manage time and multitask effectively
• Culinary certification or relevant training is an advantage
