Looking for a culinary leadership role that offers the opportunity to lead a team, develop people, build strong client relationships, and create high-quality food; without the traditional restaurant environment?

We are seeking an experienced Chef Manager to oversee daily culinary and catering operations for a corporate dining location in downtown Chicago. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the corporate restaurant as well as onsite catering, with a strong emphasis on fresh, nutritious food, team development, operational execution, and hospitality.

This could be an excellent opportunity for a Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Chef Manager, or experienced culinary leader ready to take greater ownership of an operation.

What You'll Do

• Lead daily culinary operations across the corporate restaurant and onsite catering programs
• Maintain high standards for food quality, presentation, consistency, and execution
• Lead, train, coach, and mentor culinary and food-service team members
• Identify emerging leaders and help create meaningful development and career paths
• Conduct and support training initiatives and 30/60/90-day performance reviews
• Ensure the team consistently follows operational standards, policies, and best practices
• Support nutrition and wellness initiatives while maintaining an appealing, high-quality culinary program
• Build strong relationships with the client and ensure a consistently positive guest experience
• Oversee safety, sanitation, food handling, and regulatory compliance
• Support food-service financials, accounting procedures, cost awareness, and overall operational performance
• Coordinate multiple priorities between daily dining operations, catering, team development, and client needs

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a people-focused culinary leader who enjoys being hands-on while also understanding the business side of food service.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• 3+ years of culinary or food-service leadership experience as a Chef, Sous Chef, Kitchen Manager, Chef Manager, or similar
• Strong coaching, training, and team-development skills
• Experience managing a fast-paced culinary operation with multiple priorities
• Excellent communication and client-relations skills
• Working knowledge of food-service financials and basic accounting procedures
• A strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and operational standards
• Experience with corporate dining, high-volume catering, wellness-focused concepts, or similar operations is highly preferred
• Knowledge of nutrition-focused menus or wellness-based food programs is a plus
• ServSafe Manager Certification or ability to obtain

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience

Employment: Full-time, salaried, exempt
