About the opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced Chef Manager to join our offshore team, responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the kitchen, catering and domestic functions on a remote offshore facility.

This is a leadership role suited to an experienced chef who can manage a busy commercial kitchen, lead a team, maintain high food safety standards and ensure a quality dining experience for personnel offshore.

Role Details:

• Offshore position on a remote ocean platform approximately 70–80km off Karratha, WA
• 12-hour days offshore
• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster
• 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off roster once per year
• Leadership role overseeing kitchen, catering and domestic operations
• Responsibility for menu planning, food preparation, stock control and ordering
• Management of dietary requirements and food allergies
• Supervision, training and development of kitchen and domestic personnel
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and HSE compliance
• Support emergency management as a key member of the Emergency Management Team

About you

You’re an experienced Chef Manager or senior chef with strong commercial kitchen management experience and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll bring:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in food preparation
• Minimum 5 years’ experience managing a commercial kitchen
• Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
• Food Safe Supervisor qualifications
• Certificate IV in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery) desirable
• Offshore or mining camp experience advantageous
• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HSE requirements
• Experience with stock control, ordering and catering systems
• Strong leadership, communication and people management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• Ability to participate in emergency response drills

Offshore requirements include:

• TBOSIET
• Valid MSIC
• Common Safety Training Program (CSTP)
• First Aid
• Helicopter Landing Officer
• Aviation Radio Operators Licence
• Ability to operate breathing apparatus
• Dangerous goods awareness

You’ll also be required to pass the relevant offshore medical and Fitness for Work assessment.
