Chef/Baker (Part-Time, Weekends)

Love baking bread? Want to stretch your culinary creativity? Gotcha Focaccia is a growing artisan focaccia brand selling at markets and pop-ups, including our weekly “Pop Up Focacceria” in Fort Greene.

We're looking for a skilled, detail oriented chef/baker who loves getting their hands into dough and wants to create delicious, innovative flavors with us. You’ll prep our toppings and dough on Friday and bake them off early Saturday AM, keeping everything running smoothly from start to finish.

Schedule

• Friday: Topping prep and dough production, flexible timing, approx. 2 hours
• Saturday: 3 AM - 8 AM. Bake and finish the day's focaccia, package and hand off products for delivery to market, clean workstation

Responsibilities

• Prep toppings
• Mix, ferment, shape and bake focaccia to consistent quality standards
• Serve as food safety steward, keeping the kitchen compliant with NYC DOH rules and guidelines
• Keep your station clean, organized and inspection-ready at all times
• Package and hand off product for delivery (no driving required)
• Contribute ideas for new menu items, focaccia flavors and techniques

Requirements

• Professional bread-baking experience (focaccia experience strongly preferred)
• Valid NYC DOHMH Food Protection Certificate
• Experience working in a DOH-licensed kitchen, with strong working knowledge of DOH rules and guidelines
• Experience using industrial baking and kitchen equipment
• Clean, organized and accountable, with an owner mentality
• Punctual, personable and attentive to detail
• Able to lift 50 lbs and stay on your feet for the entire shift
• Reliable for early Saturday mornings
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Fluent in English
