Assistant Chef/Cook – Part-Time

Zafiros is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Chef/Cook to join our small, friendly kitchen team.

We serve freshly cooked food in a busy café and bar, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys good food, takes pride in their work and can stay organised when the kitchen gets busy. This is a part-time position, and weekend availability is essential.

The role

You’ll work alongside the kitchen team to help prepare and cook food, keep service running smoothly and maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen. The role would suit someone who is confident in a busy kitchen and happy to be hands-on with a range of tasks.

Your duties may include:

• Preparing ingredients and helping with food preparation
• Cooking and presenting dishes to a consistent standard
• Supporting the kitchen during busy service periods
• Keeping work areas, equipment and the kitchen clean and tidy
• Following food hygiene and health and safety procedures
• Working closely with the rest of the team to provide good service

What we’re looking for

• At least two years’ experience working in a busy kitchen
• Availability to work weekends
• A genuine passion for fresh-cooked food
• A positive, dependable approach and a willingness to get stuck in
• The ability to work well as part of a small team
• Good organisation and the ability to remain calm during busy periods
• A good understanding of kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene

Pay: £12.75-£13.50 per hour

Expected hours: 18.0 – 26.0 per week
