Chef/Cook

The Kings Arms Hotel is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Full-Time Chef to join our kitchen team.

We are a family-run hotel and restaurant serving a variety of dishes to hotel residents, local customers and visitors. We are looking for someone who is reliable, maintains high standards of food quality and hygiene, and enjoys working as part of a team in a busy kitchen environment.

You will be one of two cooks/chefs on the team and will be expected to work split shifts and weekends.

Job Duties:

• Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard.
• Carrying out food preparation and meal prep ahead of service.
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety standards.
• Completing regular stock checks and ensuring ingredients are stored, labelled and rotated correctly.
• Monitoring, checking and accurately recording food temperatures in line with food safety procedures.
• Monitoring stock levels, identifying shortages and placing orders with suppliers when required.
• Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working in a professional kitchen is desirable but not essential, as training can be provided for the right candidate.
• Is organised, reliable and able to manage their time effectively.
• Can work well under pressure during busy services.
• Takes pride in the quality and consistency of their work.
• Is a positive team player with a flexible approach to the role.
• Has a good understanding of food hygiene and food safety procedures.
