ABOUT THE ROLE

We are a busy, established independent café in Brisbane’s inner-city area, looking for an experienced lead cook/chef to step into the kitchen.

The role is a hands-on role for someone experienced in a busy breakfast, brunch and lunch environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-       Lead and coordinate the kitchen team during daily service.

-       Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch dishes to a consistently high standard.

-       Organise daily prep and kitchen workflow.

-       Delegate tasks and ensure the team is prepared for busy service periods.

-       Maintain a high standard of food quality and safety.

-       Monitor and manage stock levels and control food wastage.

-       Work closely with the owner and front of house team to ensure smooth daily operations.

ABOUT YOU

-       Proven experience as lead cook/chef and can lead a kitchen.

-       Strong breakfast & lunch experience (3+ years).

-       Can confidently lead a kitchen during busy service.

-       Organised, reliable and able to work well under pressure.

-       Understand food safety, portion control and food wastage.

-       Takes pride in cleanliness and is organised to sustain a clean kitchen.

-       Reliable and able to take ownership of their responsibilities and doesn’t need to be told what to do.

WHAT WE OFFER

-       $75,000 to $85,000 + super

-       Café hours where you’ll finish by 3:00 pm every day.
