CHEFS – MAMA, NEWMARKET

MAMA is looking for a couple of talented chefs to join our kitchen team in Newmarket.

MAMA is a busy neighbourhood restaurant in the heart of Newmarket, built around great food, warm hospitality and a relaxed, energetic atmosphere.

Led by Executive Chef Joe O'Connell, our kitchen is focused on doing things properly. We work closely with some of New Zealand’s best suppliers and source quality seasonal produce, with a real focus on making things from scratch.

Our menu covers everything from snacks and small plates through to pizza, pasta, risotto and larger mains, with a focus on great ingredients, bold flavours and consistently well-executed food.

It’s a hands-on kitchen where chefs are encouraged to care about the details, understand the produce they’re working with and take real pride in what goes out on the plate.

We're looking for chefs to join Joe and the team, with full-time and part-time opportunities available.

Pizza experience would be a big bonus, but it's not essential. More importantly, we're looking for good chefs with a great attitude who take pride in what they do and enjoy working as part of a strong kitchen team.

What we are looking for

• Someone who takes pride in the food they put on the plate
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Reliable, organised and able to work well under pressure
• Someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit kitchen team
• A good understanding of consistency, cleanliness and food safety
• Pizza experience would be a bonus
• A genuine interest in food and a willingness to learn and develop
