CHEMICAL ANALYST

1.         Stoichiometric preparation and standardization of chemical reagents and solutions used in the chemical analyses.

2.         Conducts sensory evaluation, and physical and chemical analyses of Specialty Finished Products, by-products, water (chlorinated water), sanitizing solutions, raw materials, and other samples endorsed to the laboratory for testing, subject to capability.

3.         Performs physical and chemical analysis of additives, ingredients, and processing aides; and relays results to Storeroom and other concerned departments as basis for acceptance disposition.

4.         Records Test Results in pertinent reports and relays to immediate supervisor and other concerned departments being served as needed.

5.          Participates in intra- and interlaboratory Proficiency Testing (PT) program for all chemical testing parameters; involving estimation of measurement uncertainty (MU).

6.         Provides immediate possible assistance to the Production Supervisors for any physical and/or chemical quality problems encountered.

7.         Performs Quality Assurance/ Quality Control (QA/QC) checks in chemical analyses.

8.         Caries out inventory of laboratory chemicals, apparatus/ equipment, glassware and the verification thereof as scheduled on the approved Verification Plan (QA-SD-C7).

9.         Observes proper storage and disposal of analyzed test samples.

10.     Maintains good housekeeping on the working area.

11.     Conducts random spot checking on the reference standards, proper sampling, and inspection conducted by in-line QA-Inspectors at the production areas.

12.     Implementation of aseptic and safety measures required in the conduct of work and the proper operation/ handling of laboratory equipment, instrument, apparatus, and chemicals.

13.     Contributes valuable recommendations and suggestions for the improvement of laboratory work activities to the respective Chemistry Supervisor.

14.     Ensures that laboratory and storage are free from gluten and other allergen.

15.     Performs duties and responsibilities align with Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices and company established environmental, health and safety program.

16.     Performs other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor, subject to the position’s scope and limitations.
