Chemical Engineer

Job Responsibilities :

• Develop, monitor and optimize surface treatment processes, including cleaning, degreasing, anodizing, and electroplating processes to ensure product quality and process efficiency.
• Perform laboratory testing and analysis for wastewater treatment to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
• Conduct routine chemical analysis and process monitoring for anodizing and nickel plating operations.
• Monitor wastewater treatment system performance and chemical consumption to ensure efficient operation and cost control.
• Manage chemical inventory and ensure adequate stock levels of production and wastewater treatment chemicals.
• Prepare technical reports, process documentation, work instructions and records related to surface treatment processes.
• Conduct chemical analysis and troubleshooting to resolve process-related issues and improve yield.
• Evaluate and introduce new chemicals, technologies and process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce operating costs.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety regulations relating to chemical handling, waste treatment and wastewater discharge.
• Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering and Maintenance teams to support daily operations and continuous improvement activities.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues.
• Support customer requirements, audits and certification activities related to surface treatment processes.
• Provide technical guidance and training to production personnel on chemical process control and best practices.

Job Requirements :

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering or equivalent.
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with 1–3 years of working experience in surface treatment, anodizing, electroplating, nickel plating or metal finishing industry will have an added advantage.
• Knowledge of chemical process control, wastewater treatment and environmental regulations.
• Familiarity with laboratory testing equipment and analytical methods is preferred.
• Experience in anodizing, nickel plating and wastewater treatment processes will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and chemical handling requirements.
• Good understanding of ISO 9001 and environmental management systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willing to work in a manufacturing environment and support continuous improvement initiatives.
