Chemical Engineer / Laboratory Technician

About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Chemical Engineer to perform daily electroplating bath analysis, Hull cell testing and chemical adjustments. The role ensures bath chemistry remains within approved operating limits, troubleshoots plating issues and supports consistent product quality.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform daily chemical concentration analysis for all designated process tanks.
• Conduct Hull cell tests and interpret results to assess plating bath conditions.
• Calculate chemical replenishment quantities and adjust baths according to approved specifications.
• Re-test baths after adjustments to verify compliance with operating limits.
• Troubleshoot plating defects and bath abnormalities with Production, Quality and chemical suppliers.
• Maintain accurate records of test results, chemical additions and bath maintenance.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and reagents, and follow chemical handling and safety procedures.

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or a related field.
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply; relevant electroplating or surface treatment experience is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of chemical analysis and laboratory testing.
• Willing to learn Hull cell testing, chemical replenishment calculations and plating bath adjustments.
• Familiar with safe laboratory practices and chemical handling.
• Detail-oriented, with good problem-solving, communication and record-keeping skills.
• Willing to work hands-on in both laboratory and production environments.
