About the role

Precision Electroplating Sdn Bhd is seeking a Chemical Engineering Assistant to join our dynamic engineering team in Pekan Nanas, Johor. This is a full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to develop their chemical engineering expertise within a growing electroplating manufacturing environment. You will work on-site at our Pekan Nanas facility, supporting our chemical processes and contributing to the continuous improvement of our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of chemical processes within electroplating operations
• Support the collection, analysis and recording of process data and quality control measurements
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and systems to identify potential issues or areas for optimisation
• Assist in the preparation and handling of chemical solutions and materials in accordance with established procedures
• Support senior engineers in troubleshooting process-related problems and implementing corrective actions
• Maintain accurate documentation of chemical inventories, process parameters and operational records
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations during all chemical handling activities
• Participate in training programmes and contribute to the development of standard operating procedures
• Support the implementation of process improvements and efficiency initiatives
• Assist with equipment maintenance, calibration and preventative maintenance schedules

What we're looking for

• A qualification in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or a related engineering discipline from a recognised institution
• Strong understanding of chemical processes, reactions and their practical applications in manufacturing
• Knowledge of electroplating processes and metal finishing operations (preferred)
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and instrumentation for data collection and analysis
• Competent computer skills with experience using spreadsheet applications and data management systems
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting data
• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards and practices
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing requirements
• Physical capability to perform tasks in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods
