Chemical Spray Technician

Join our team as a Chemical Spray Technician and help keep Palm Beach County’s parks and grounds healthy, safe, and beautiful. This position performs skilled chemical application, vegetation control, fertilization, pest management, and general grounds maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and identify weeds, pests, diseases, and vegetation concerns.
• Select, mix, and safely apply appropriate herbicides, pesticides, and fertilizers.
• Operate and maintain spray equipment, trucks, boats, and related tools.
• Maintain chemical inventories and ensure proper storage and handling.
• Perform general park maintenance, including planting, trimming, gardening, and fertilizing.
• Follow environmental, safety, and pollution-control requirements.

Experience

• Proven experience operating spray guns, airless paint sprayers, or powder coating systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, and material consumption estimates.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of public chemical spraying experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Knowledge of chemical application, vegetation control, safety practices, and general grounds maintenance.
• Ability to follow instructions, recognize hazards, work safely, and lead others when needed.

Required Certifications

• Florida Department of Agriculture Restricted Use Pesticide License with Ornamental & Turf categories.
• Florida Green Industries Best Management Practices (BMP) Training Certificate within three months of hire.
• Florida Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) may be required depending on equipment operated.

Pay: From $21.73 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
