About the role

The Chemist is responsible for conducting chemical analyses and laboratory testing of sugarcane, process materials, intermediate products, and finished sugar products to ensure compliance with established quality standards, production requirements, and applicable regulatory specifications. The position provides accurate and timely laboratory results to support production, quality control, and process optimization.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct chemical and physical analyses of sugarcane juice, syrup, massecuite, molasses, bagasse, and finished sugar
• Perform analyses such as Brix, Pol, Purity, pH, moisture, ash, color, reducing sugars, and sucrose content, as applicable
• Prepare and analyze laboratory samples in accordance with established procedures and standards
• Monitor the quality of materials and products at different stages of the sugar manufacturing process
• Provide timely laboratory results to production personnel to assist in process control and adjustments
• Identify abnormal test results and immediately report significant deviations to the concerned personnel
• Ensure that raw materials, process products, and finished products meet company specifications and applicable quality standards
• Properly operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment
• Accurately record laboratory test results, observations, and other relevant data
• Follow company policies on occupational health and safety and proper chemical handling

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry
• Licensed Chemist (RCh) preferred
