Chief Accountant

Position Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and commercially minded Chief Accountant to oversee the financial accounting function of Radisson RED Phuket Patong Beach.

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, effective cash management, compliance with statutory requirements, and timely month-end closing. The role will work closely with the General Manager, Finance team, and department heads to support sound financial decision-making and hotel profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the hotel.
• Ensure accurate recording of all revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities.
• Manage month-end closing, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and journal entries.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports and financial analysis.
• Monitor hotel revenue, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger and cash transactions.
• Ensure accurate daily revenue reconciliation and review of income audit reports.
• Monitor cash flow, bank reconciliations and payment processes.
• Maintain effective internal controls and ensure compliance with company and hotel finance policies.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes.
• Analyze departmental performance, costs and variances and provide recommendations to management.
• Work closely with Operations, F&B, Sales and other departments to improve cost control and financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with Thai accounting, taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, banks and other financial stakeholders when required.
• Support annual audits and ensure all required documentation is accurate and available.
• Review purchasing, inventory, stock control and cost-of-sales processes.
• Monitor hotel expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved profitability.
• Lead, coach and develop the accounting team.
• Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial information.
• Perform other finance-related duties as required by the General Manager and management.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting/finance experience, preferably within an international hotel or resort.
• Previous experience as Chief Accountant, Assistant Financial Controller, or similar senior hotel finance role is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting practices and financial controls.
• Good understanding of Thai accounting standards, taxation and statutory requirements.
• Experience with hotel PMS, POS and accounting systems.
• Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good English communication skills.
• Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a fast-paced hotel operation.
• Experience with an international hotel brand such as Radisson Hotel Group is an advantage.
