Chief Accountant

Position Overview

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for leading and overseeing all accounting, financial reporting, taxation, treasury, and statutory compliance activities of the China Joint Venture. This role will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, compliance with PRC regulations and company policies, timely management reporting, and effective internal controls. As the finance lead for the China JV, the Chief Accountant will partner closely with local management and APAC Regional Finance, provide financial insights to support business decisions, and supervise one Accountant to ensure efficient day-to-day finance operations and sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full set of accounts, financial reporting, and monthly/year-end closing.
• Ensure compliance with PRC accounting, tax, and statutory requirements.
• Oversee treasury, cash flow management, and banking relationships.
• Coordinate audits and manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities.
• Maintain effective internal controls and support corporate governance requirements.
• Provide financial analysis and business insights to support management decision-making.
• Supervise the accountant, ensuring accurate and timely execution of daily accounting activities.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• 8+ years of accounting and finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of PRC accounting, tax, and statutory compliance.
• Good understanding of PRC GAAP and applicable accounting, tax, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Experience in financial reporting, audits, and treasury management.
• Experience in a multinational company or joint venture organization is an advantage.
• Proficient in ERP systems, Excel, and English communication.
