The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading private equity-backed organisation to appoint a Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO).

This is a senior executive opportunity to lead enterprise-wide AI strategy and transformation across a large, rapidly growing healthcare business with an extensive nationwide footprint.

Working closely with the executive leadership team and private equity stakeholders, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and implementing AI solutions that deliver measurable improvements in operational efficiency, financial performance and patient experience.

We are looking for a commercially focused AI leader who combines deep technical expertise with a proven track record of delivering large-scale transformation and tangible business results.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the organisation's enterprise-wide AI strategy and roadmap.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI for operational efficiency, revenue growth and EBITDA improvement.
• Lead the implementation of generative AI, LLMs, agentic AI and intelligent automation across the business.
• Drive AI transformation across clinical operations, patient engagement, administrative workflows and revenue cycle management.
• Build and lead a high-performing AI function, establishing the right technology platforms, partnerships and capabilities.
• Partner with C-suite executives and private equity stakeholders to prioritise investments and demonstrate measurable ROI.
• Establish AI governance, security and compliance frameworks appropriate for a regulated healthcare environment.
• Lead organisational change and drive adoption of AI solutions across a large, geographically distributed business.

What We're Looking For

• Significant senior leadership experience in AI, machine learning or enterprise technology transformation.
• Proven success developing and delivering enterprise AI strategies with measurable commercial outcomes.
• Deep technical understanding of generative AI, LLMs, agentic systems and production AI platforms.
• Experience leading large-scale AI implementation and transformation programmes.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate AI investments into operational improvements and financial returns.
• Experience building and leading technical teams and influencing executive-level stakeholders.
• Excellent strategic thinking, communication and organisational leadership skills.

Highly Desirable

• Experience within healthcare services, healthcare technology or another highly regulated industry.
• Previous experience within a private equity-backed business.
• Exposure to multi-site operations, healthcare workflows or revenue cycle management.
• Experience building an AI function or leading enterprise AI transformation from an early stage.
