Chief Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization’s Compliance Management System in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Serve as the primary liaison with relevant regulatory authorities, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of regulatory matters.
• Oversee and strengthen the organization’s Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) framework, including risk identification, customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting.
• Advise senior management on regulatory obligations, compliance risks, and governance requirements related to new products, partnerships, business initiatives, and organizational changes.
• Ensure the timely and accurate submission of required regulatory reports, certifications, and compliance requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
• Lead compliance risk assessments, reviews, and monitoring activities to evaluate the effectiveness of the organization’s compliance framework.
• Provide regular guidance and reports to the Board of Directors and Executive Management on compliance performance, regulatory developments, and emerging risks.
• Lead compliance training and awareness initiatives to strengthen a culture of integrity, accountability, and regulatory compliance across the organization.
• Partner closely with business, product, operations, risk, legal, and other functions to embed compliance considerations into the organization’s evolving business model and strategic objectives.
• Monitor emerging regulatory requirements and assess their potential impact on the organization, recommending appropriate actions to senior management and the Board.
• Support the organization’s ongoing transformation and business evolution by ensuring that compliance and governance remain integrated into strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in compliance, risk management, audit, or a related function within a regulated financial institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior compliance leadership role, with prior regulatory approval or confirmation as a Chief Compliance Officer preferred.
• Strong knowledge of financial services regulations, AML/CTF requirements, data privacy, regulatory reporting, and other applicable compliance frameworks.
• Strong understanding of compliance governance, regulatory risk management, internal controls, and compliance monitoring.
• Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with Board and Executive Management.
• Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with regulators and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead compliance functions through organizational transformation, regulatory change, and evolving business environments.
• High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, with the ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
