Chief Concierge Department: Front office

Reports to: Director of Guest Services

We are currently seeking a Chief Concierge to join the Shangri-La Kyoto team.

As the leader of the Concierge and Guest Services teams, you will play a key role in creating memorable guest experiences and delivering personalized service at every touchpoint. Working closely with colleagues across the hotel, you will uphold Shangri-La’s renowned hospitality standards while fostering service excellence and operational effectiveness.

■ Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Concierge and Guest Services operations.
• Deliver exceptional and personalized guest experiences.
• Supervise, coach, and develop the Concierge team.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
• Build strong relationships with guests and enhance guest loyalty.
• Ensure efficient handling of guest requests, transportation, and concierge services.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local attractions, restaurants, and events.
• Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments to support seamless operations.
• Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and operating expenses.
• Uphold Shangri-La standards, policies, and procedures.
• Promote a culture of safety, security, and environmental responsibility.

■ Requirements

• Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese.
• Hotel Management education or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chief Concierge in an international luxury hotel.
• Guest-focused with strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
• Goal-oriented with a proactive mindset.
• Committed to delivering exceptional service.
• Good computer literacy.
• Ability to work flexible and irregular hours.
• Good knowledge of the local area and city attractions.
• Resourceful and solution-oriented.
• Knowledge of additional foreign languages (Preferred).
• Experience in a similar hotel environment (Preferred).
• Strong sense of humor (Preferred).
• Self-confidence and professional maturity (Preferred).
• International Les Clefs d'Or membership (Preferred)

• ゲストのご要望への迅速かつ円滑な対応
• 送迎や交通手配を含むコンシェルジュサービスの管理
• 地域の観光情報、レストラン、イベント情報の最新知識の維持・共有
• ホテル各部門との連携を通じた円滑なオペレーションの推進
• 部門予算やフォーキャストの管理ならびに経費コントロール
• シャングリ・ラの基準・方針・手順の遵守と推進
• 安全・安心で持続可能な職場環境づくりへの貢献

■ 応募資格

• 日本語および英語での高いコミュニケーション能力（口頭・文書）
• ホテルマネジメント関連の学位または同等の資格
• インターナショナルラグジュアリーホテルでのChief Concierge経験1年以上
• ゲスト志向が高く、優れたリーダーシップを発揮できる方
• チームの育成やマネジメント経験をお持ちの方
• 主体性があり、意欲的かつ柔軟に対応できる方
• 目標達成に向けて積極的に行動できる方
• 卓越したサービスの提供に情熱をお持ちの方
• 基本的なPCスキルをお持ちの方
• オペレーションに応じて柔軟な勤務が可能な方
• 京都および周辺エリアの観光・レストラン・文化に関する知識をお持ちの方
• 臨機応変に対応し、課題解決に取り組める方
• その他外国語スキルをお持ちの方（尚可）
• 同等クラスのホテルでの勤務経験をお持ちの方（尚可）
