Chief Editor (Science – Primary & Secondary)

About the role

This is a leadership position in Science team educational publishing, responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive publishing strategies, managing editorial teams, and driving innovation in digital publishing and product development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive publishing strategies
• Formulate project schedules, workflows, budgets, and resource plans, allocating resources effectively to maximize operational efficiency; monitor project milestones and progress to guarantee timely publication
• Ensure all publications strictly meet company standards for quality, accuracy, and professionalism
• Lead and manage the editorial team, provide training, supervision and coaching, fostering an engaging, supportive, and collaborative team culture
• Identify and recruit potential consultants, writers, and reviewers, building strong working relationships with professional partners
• Support Sales and Marketing team in promoting publishing projects, contributing to product positioning and marketing strategies
• Analyze market feedback and provide strategic recommendations for product enhancement
• Promote digital publishing, AI applications, and business innovation
• Research emerging market trends to conceptualize and develop new products and innovative publishing projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Science, Science Education, Publishing, or a related discipline
• Extensive experience in educational publishing, with a proven track record in a leadership or core editorial management position within the science subject area
• Strong project management skills, budgeting and cost control, and a deep understanding of current educational trends, digital publishing, and EdTech/AI integration
• Outstanding leadership, cross-departmental coordination, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as Managing Editor or Senior Editor
