Location: Knoxville Metropolitan Area (100% Remote)

Duration: Full Time (Direct-Hire)

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Estimator to support the continued growth of our electrical construction operations. This position will be responsible for developing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial and industrial electrical projects while partnering closely with operations, project management, vendors, subcontractors, and customers.The ideal candidate has a strong electrical construction background, understands how projects are built in the field, and can take a project from initial bid documents through a complete and well-supported estimate.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.

Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and scopes of work to identify project requirements.

Perform electrical takeoffs and develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.

Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.

Identify potential scope gaps, risks, exclusions, and opportunities during the estimating process.

Prepare bid proposals, clarifications, qualifications, and supporting documentation.

Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project turnover meetings.

Work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to ensure estimates reflect realistic construction methods, labor requirements, and schedules.

Assist with value engineering and alternative solutions to improve project competitiveness and profitability.

Maintain historical estimating data, material pricing, labor information, and vendor relationships.

Review completed projects and actual costs to improve estimating accuracy on future work.

Support junior estimators and provide guidance on takeoffs, pricing, and estimating best practices.

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, general contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Qualifications:

7+ years of electrical construction estimating or closely related electrical construction experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of commercial and/or industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, controls, feeders, branch circuits, switchgear, and related equipment.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, and construction documents.

Experience performing material takeoffs, labor calculations, vendor comparisons, and complete project estimates.

Working knowledge of electrical construction methods, labor productivity, material costs, and project sequencing.

Experience with electrical estimating software and Microsoft Office; experience with Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, Bluebeam, or similar platforms is a plus.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to collaborate effectively with estimating, operations, project management, and field teams.

Electrical field experience is highly valued.

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is a plus but not required with equivalent industry experience.
