What they need
Full-Time | Hotel Engineering & Maintenance Leadership
WE'RE LOOKING FOR A FIXER, A LEADER & A PROBLEM SOLVER.
WoodSpring Suites Port Orange is seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Chief Engineer to take ownership of the maintenance and physical condition of our hotel.
We're looking for someone who doesn't just identify problems — you know how to fix them.
The right candidate takes pride in their property, understands preventive maintenance, responds quickly to guest and operational needs, and believes that a well-maintained hotel is essential to both the guest experience and the hotel's financial success.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
As Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall maintenance, safety, appearance, and functionality of the property.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform and oversee daily hotel maintenance and repairs
- Maintain a strong preventive maintenance program
- Troubleshoot and repair PTAC/HVAC units
- Handle basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general repairs
- Maintain guestrooms, public areas, exterior areas, and hotel equipment
- Respond quickly to guestroom maintenance requests
- Complete room preventive maintenance and ensure rooms are returned to inventory quickly
- Conduct regular property and equipment inspections
- Maintain an organized maintenance shop and accurate tool/inventory controls
- Track work orders and ensure timely completion
- Identify recurring maintenance issues and recommend permanent solutions
- Coordinate and supervise outside vendors when specialized work is required
- Monitor repair costs and help control maintenance expenses
- Maintain required maintenance and safety documentation
- Support property improvement and capital projects
- Ensure compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and applicable codes
- Work closely with the General Manager and hotel leadership team
WE WANT SOMEONE WHO...
Takes ownership. If something is broken, you take responsibility for getting it resolved.
Is hands-on. You are comfortable picking up your tools and completing repairs yourself.
Thinks preventively. You don't wait for equipment to fail before taking action.
Understands urgency. An out-of-order room impacts revenue, and guest-related maintenance issues require immediate attention.
Takes pride in the property. You notice the details others may walk past.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous hotel, apartment, multifamily, commercial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred
- Hotel Chief Engineer or Maintenance Supervisor experience is a plus
- Strong general maintenance and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with HVAC/PTAC systems strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, carpentry, and general building repairs
- Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and projects
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of the hotel leadership team
- Ability to respond to emergency maintenance situations when necessary
- Must have reliable transportation
- Appropriate HVAC/EPA certifications are a plus

This is an opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a property and see the results of their work every day.
