3. Position Purpose

Responsible for overseeing all engineering operations and utility systems of the hotel to ensure that all building systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with five-star hotel standards and all applicable laws and regulations. The position is also responsible for managing engineering maintenance costs and implementing energy-saving initiatives to optimize operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Education

* Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Professional License

* Valid Professional Engineering License issued by the Council of Engineers (COE), at the Associate Engineer level (or higher).

Experience

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in building engineering, hotel engineering, or facilities engineering.

* Previous experience as a Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer in a 4- or 5-star hotel will be highly preferred.

* Proven experience managing a technical maintenance team of at least 10 technicians.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Manage and oversee all engineering operations of the hotel.

2. Plan, implement, and monitor the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program.

3. Develop maintenance plans for all mechanical and electrical systems.

4. Supervise and ensure timely completion of emergency repair work.

5. Prepare and control the engineering department’s annual budget.

6. Analyze energy consumption and implement energy conservation initiatives.

7. Supervise and manage contractors to ensure work quality and compliance with hotel standards.

8. Ensure all engineering systems are fully operational and ready prior to hotel operations.

9. Prepare engineering department KPI reports and performance analyses.

10. Ensure full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, safety standards, and engineering codes.
