Chief Engineer

Duties

• Lead and oversee all engineering activities related to manufacturing processes, maintenance operations, and facility management.
• Manage and coordinate project management initiatives to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and safety standards.
• Supervise technical teams responsible for electrical systems, mechanical equipment, HVAC units, and low voltage systems.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs utilizing CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools to optimize asset performance.
• Review schematics, technical drawings, and system layouts to troubleshoot issues effectively and plan upgrades or repairs.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards by conducting regular inspections and safety audits.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan upgrades involving programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical systems, and industrial automation.
• Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance activities, system modifications, and project progress for transparency and continuous improvement.

Skills

• Strong management skills with proven experience supervising diverse technical teams in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Excellent project management capabilities to lead multiple initiatives from planning through execution while meeting deadlines.
• Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, industrial maintenance practices, and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in reading schematics, technical drawings, and electrical diagrams; familiarity with PLC programming is a plus.
• Experience with CMMS software for scheduling maintenance tasks and tracking asset history.
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, low voltage electrical systems, and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
