Chief Engineer

About the role

The Chief Engineer is responsible for the overall engineering, maintenance, facilities, and technical operations of the hotel. This role ensures that all hotel facilities, equipment, building systems, and infrastructure operate safely, efficiently, reliably, and in accordance with Radisson brand standards and applicable Thai regulations. The Chief Engineer will lead the Engineering team, oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, manage MEP systems, control engineering budgets and energy consumption, coordinate contractors and suppliers, and support hotel operations, renovation, refurbishment, and capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all engineering, maintenance, and technical operations across the hotel
• Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) systems
• Oversee HVAC, air-conditioning, electrical systems, plumbing, water systems, boilers, pumps, generators, elevators, fire and life-safety systems, kitchen equipment, swimming pools, and other hotel facilities
• Develop and implement comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Programs (PPM)
• Lead corrective and emergency maintenance activities
• Lead, manage, and develop the hotel Engineering team
• Monitor and improve hotel energy consumption and utility efficiency
• Prepare and manage the Engineering department budget
• Ensure compliance with Thai laws, regulations, hotel standards, and applicable engineering requirements
• Manage engineering contractors, consultants, service providers, and technical suppliers

About you

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Minimum 5–8 years of engineering experience within hotels, resorts, or large-scale hospitality properties
• Previous experience as a Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Assistant Chief Engineer, or equivalent senior hotel engineering position
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building systems, generators, pumps, boilers, fire & life safety, and hotel facilities
• Proven experience managing an Engineering team and departmental operations
• Experience with engineering budgets, cost control, energy management, and CAPEX
• Experience managing contractors, suppliers, consultants, and technical projects
• Strong understanding of health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment and respond to operational emergencies when required
