Chief Engineer

Objectives:

• To lead a technical team, oversee all Mechanical, Plumbing, Civil and Electrical installation and equipment within the assigned site(s) to ensure that they are all in good and proper working order.

• Knowledge of technical standard operation procedures, systems and processes.
• Well verse with ACMV, Pumps, Plumbing, Gas, Lift and Escalator/Travellator.
• Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Pleasant and professional disposition, energetic and willingness to learn and help others.

Key Responsibilities:

• To lead the Building Services team.
• Oversee all ACMV, Pumps, Plumbing, and Gas, Lifts and Escalators/Travellators system and equipment within the assigned site to ensure that they are all in good and proper working order.
• To lead a technical team meter and hands-on in trouble-shooting mechanical system and provide recommendation and solution.
• To process tenants' water meter application and energize of water supply with proper procedures and records.
• Supervise M&E Service contractors and certify service chits with remarks on their performance where appropriate
• Daily check and inspect ACMV, Pumps, Plumbing, Lifts and Escalator/Travellators system for irregularities and replace/repair where necessary
• Daily attend to all Mechanical services complaints received from Tenants/Management.
• Whenever necessary, call in Service Contractors to attend to any problems relating to M&E services.
• Ensure all stock for replacement are sufficient, in proper control and recorded.
• Report immediately to Management on any irregularities of mechanical services, with recommendation for remedial works and recommend competent and reasonable contractors for Management considerations.
• To monitor all mechanical service contractors and recommend to Management whether to extend or terminate upon expiry based on their performance.
• Liaise closely with the Chargeman and other Section Head/staff between Building Services department and other site maintenance staff for smooth functioning of Building Services Department.
• Attend all M&E Emergencies when called upon.
• Monitor all licensed, statutory requirement, tests, etc, ensure fully compliance with regards to all M&E services.
• Monitor and keep proper report on monthly water consumption and report to Management on any major fluctuation together with probable causes and remedy.
• Carry out Maintenance objectives and policies as laid down by Management from time to time.
• Assist Management on all other job functions as and when called upon from time to time.

Key Requirements:

• Must possess Degree / Master in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical Electromechanical) or equivalent
• Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
• Must display professionalism and confidence
• Computer literacy skills
• Strong organisational, multi-tasking and time-management skills
• Possess registered Gas OB with JBEG is an added advantage
• Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem - solving environment

• At least 8 years work experience in commercial building/retail mall
