Chief Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Engineering to lead our engineering operations and strategic initiatives. This is a full-time position based in Jakarta, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of our engineering department and drive operational excellence across our portfolio of properties. In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing all engineering functions, managing technical teams, and ensuring that our facilities operate at optimal efficiency. You will play a pivotal role in developing engineering strategies that align with our company's growth objectives and maintain our reputation for quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development
• Develop and implement comprehensive engineering strategies and policies that align with company objectives and industry best practices
• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and structural integrity
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards across all managed properties
• Manage engineering budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and extend asset lifespan
• Respond to and resolve engineering emergencies and critical issues in a timely and effective manner
• Collaborate with property managers, clients, and external contractors to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder satisfaction
• Implement technological solutions and innovations to enhance operational efficiency and sustainability
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain high standards of facility management
• Prepare detailed reports on engineering performance, maintenance activities, and capital improvement recommendations
• Represent the company in dealings with regulatory authorities, vendors, and external engineering consultants

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in engineering and experience in a senior leadership or management role

• Proven expertise in building systems, preventive maintenance, and facility management

• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, and compliance requirements

• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing engineering teams

• Excellent project management skills with experience overseeing multiple complex projects simultaneously

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on practical and cost-effective solutions

• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse audiences

• Valid engineering licensure or professional certification (ASCE, IEEE, or equivalent) is highly desirable

• Experience in commercial property management or multi-building portfolio management is preferred

• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and energy efficiency initiatives is advantageous
